I got this book because my family is planning a climbing trip in Moab, Utah this Spring. Although I haven't really used it, I know it will be a great resource for us as we find good spots to climb when we vacation down there.

Good overview of routes and areas- For more details on specific areas, I would buy other guidebooks. Bought the RC Arizona used-like new and it was cheaper and like new.

The state of Utah offers an incredible amount of fabulous rock climbing routes on a diverse spectrum of rocks, and Stewart Greene has carefully documented a major portion of them. The descriptions, photos, and maps are excellent, and he also includes equipment recommendations and climbing history. This is a large, 2017 set from Eireann Press of 54 great Verne novels, of which 46 are in English and 8 remain in French. The translations are the standard old, public domain ones, meaning they are the familiar "classic" ones many of us grew up with and enjoyed (but which, in many instances, are slightly abridged). There are various active TOCs to easily access content, but paragraph distinction is inconsistently rendered; in some books paragraphs are distinguished by traditional indention (great), in others by space between them (okay), but in some not at all (terrible). Reading a book in which paragraphs are not readily identifiable is a nuisance. For that reason this otherwise 5-star set gets rated one star lower.I greatly enjoy Verne's quaint, very descriptive and detailed, travelogue-style adventures often involving several protagonists trying to survive in one or more exotic locales while in search of something or someone. Not all of his 46+ books are equally as great, but all are enjoyable -- if formatted properly.There ARE editions in which paragraphs are properly indented throughout (unlike this one). I would especially recommend two: (1) The DELPHI COMPLETE WORKS OF JULES VERNE and (2) the 47-book set (all in English) from Book House titled JULES VERNE: THE EXTRAORDINARY ADVENTURES (THE GREATEST WRITERS OF ALL TIME). Those two are so great, rather than choosing between them, I bought both.

The binding on this book is not very good quality -- the one I purchased (and am returning) had bent corners and the inside front pages were coming apart from the spine. Disappointing, because I bought it as a Christmas present, the replacement is way overdue, and now I have to come up with something else.

No complaints, classic Verne. If you're not familiar with his writing--takes a little work to keep up with it. Gotta keep track of timelines. Not necessary to know all the scientific jargon, as long as you get the main point. Everyone should read at least two of these tales. A must have in every library. Also have received a few compliments on this leather bound edition.

I will start by saying that when this arrived I was very excited to see the beautiful book. However, when I attempted to read this along with one of my students I was very dismayed to find that this is NOT the Jules Verne version of Journey to the Center of the E -I can't speak to the others I did not compare the other stories with the original. I bought this to read along with my student, but It is some kind of summary and even changes the character's name. VERY disappointed. So very disappointed.

This book was a gift for my husband, who has been really enjoying it. The quality of the binding is wonderful and we're glad to have these stories in our collection now. I have read that others have had issues with the spine of the book but so far we haven't had issues at all. The type is a little small but that is to be expected with as many stories as they have put into one book. We also really loved the book marker inside! Thank you so much to the seller for fast shipping. Happy reading to everyone!

Maybe I was naive to think a book could hold this much content, but the spine broke even before it arrived (meaning the cover is kind of coming off), and the font is small enough that I can't read it without my glasses, which I never bother with for "normal" books. So perhaps buyers should re-think what is possible in terms of fitting so much literature into such a small package...

I love this book, and the way it has been put together - from the perfect thickness and smoothness of the gold leaf pages, to the crisp, clean printing, to the way that it easily stays open as you read it. There is a great introduction about Jules Verne and the stories that are included. A superb, quality edition, and an excellent value!

Wonderful examples of interesting and funny marginalia. It's a short book so I wasn't expecting in-depth research but there is a lot of good info in here, and certainly refers to other resources for future reference. It seems like a book for younger readers but this older reader got a lot out of it too. After reading this I purchased two other books in this series.

While I found the text extremely interesting, I had hope to learn more about technique. This simply points to images one might encounter with very brief discussion. and while the illustrations are entirely in color, one needs a magnifying glass to see what the author is discussing.

Wendy is a global driving force of the use and implementation of the Kirkpatrick Model, leading companies to measurable success through training and evaluation. Her results orientation stems from over two decades of business experience in retailing, marketing, and training. She has held positions as a buyer, product manager, process manager, and training manager. As a training manager, she oversaw the training curriculum for 1,500 sales and customer service representatives across North America. This update does a great job of clarifying any questions on how to use the Kirkpatrick 4 Levels of Evaluation plus additions to the original concepts.

Evaluation Training Programs was originally published in 1993 by Professor Don Kirkpatrick. Following Don’s death, his son Jim and his wife Wendy have revised Don’s evaluation model, now called the New World Kirkpatrick Model, in their new book, Kirkpatrick’s Four Levels of Training Evaluation. The model revolves around four steps or levels of training: Reaction, Learning, Behavior, and Results. For many years, even today, many training programs are good at measuring Reaction (with bubble sheet questions pertaining to the training) and Learning (comparing pre- with post-tests). However, the deeper levels of Behavior (discovering if people changed their behaviors after training) and Results (documenting if their bosses and others see change occur after training) are much tougher to evaluate and are often skipped in favor of the easier first two steps. This book outlines how to go about the process of assessing all four levels and includes several case examples that help illuminate the process. Why is this important? “It [evaluation] is training and development’s bottom line,” says leadership author and authority Elaine Biech in the foreword of the book.

For anyone involved in workplace learning or training, this book is a must-read. It is very helpful and will provide insight into planning and evaluating workplace learning and training. It has been a great addition for me.
